Film Lighting for Milan Fashion Show

Milan Fashion Week: When I got the job to light and photograph a "scenic" fashion show, in which models walk, sit and lounge on little stage sets I opted for film-lighting. Since the models were to be photographed (and admired by the crowd) while constantly changing position I had to approach the set like a film set. I choose the little dedo-lights which are used to light small sets or table tops. Theses lights allowed me to keep the light off the projection of slides which illuminated the background of the sets. Naturally the light levels were kind of low. Open lens was mandatory. The background projections were done by Yuti. The wonderful flowery production design of the sets was created by Anina Diener Production Design. The fashion designer was Frida Weyer for Meissen Couture. Check out the photos on Meissen.com
